LABORATORY FOR PHYSICAL AND CHEMICAL ANALYSIS AND NON-DESTRUCTIVE TESTING OF METALLIC MATERIALS

Bureau Veritas' physical and chemical analysis and non-destructive testing laboratory can provide physical and chemical performance testing, electrical testing, non-destructive testing and other testing and services for metal materials and products, covering petrochemical, electric power, equipment manufacturing, large steel structures, amusement facilities and other industries.

The laboratory is qualified by China Metrology Accreditation (CMA), China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS), and has Special Equipment Inspection and Testing Organization Approval Certificate and Radiation Safety License.

Laboratory Testing

Chemical analysis: test the content of specified elements in metal materials to judge whether they meet the requirements of relevant material brands or technical specifications
Mechanical properties testing: test the tensile, bending, impact, flattening, hardness and other items of metal raw materials or products
Metallographic testing: test the microstructure, grain size and non-metallic inclusion content of metal materials
Intergranular corrosion testing: test the intergranular corrosion resistance of metal materials
Ferrite content determination: test the ferrite content of materials by instrumental method or metallographic method

Fastener test: test the tensile load holding performance of bolts and nuts, as well as the torque coefficient, fastening axial force and anti-slip coefficient of connecting pairs
Mechanical property test of welded joint: test the tensile, bending, impact, hardness, macro and breaking test of welded joint

Safety valve calibration (cooperation project with Zhongshan Testing Institute of Guangdong Province Special Equipment Testing Institute)

Non-destructive Testing

The NDT Centre specializes in radiographic testing (RT), ultrasonic testing (UT), magnetic particle testing (MT), penetrant testing (PT), ultrasonic time-of-flight diffraction (TOFD), eddy current testing (ECT), acoustic emission testing (AE), phased array ultrasonic testing (PAUT), visual inspection (VT) and ultrasonic thickness measurement of special equipment, storage tanks, mechanical products, metal materials and steel structural components.
